The energy of air masses that are constantly moving hundreds of times the hydropower resources of all rivers planet. Everywhere and always in the land winds blow from a light breeze to powerful hurricanes. These winds could fully meet the needs of humanity. But the share of wind power is only 0.1%. Why then this affordable and environmentally friendly method of energy production so little used?

        Mankind uses wind energy for more than 5 thousand years. Initially the wind was used to propel boats, then - to grind grain and raise the water. Now the wind is used for production of electricity. Although the price is 1 kilowatt-hours of wind energy extracted from relatively low - 4 cents - but all the projects on construction of new windmills are usually very slowly paying off. The most successful can be considered a project to build windmills on the island of Hawaii Ohio: giant wind turbines, with rotor diameter of 122 m now produce more than 6200 kW each, with wind speed 47 km / h. Probably the constant rise in fuel resources make such projects more profitable, and then increase the share of "wind" electricity.
